Grief Transmutation May Way

Jamie Foxx blamed it on the goose, I blame it on the grief. Not that I owe anyone any explanations; I transmute my grief into beauty like a phoenix who rises from the ashes of mourning. (Isaiah 61:1–3)

Creating my own life experiences is what being a replica and example of the One that created me is like. It’s what I enjoy doing, especially when I’m dealing with loss and grief. Over the years I’ve allowed the spirit of creation to use me, minister and channel through me, for me AND for the people. It’s cathartic for me to bend pixels while listening to binaural beats and solfeggio frequencies.

The days leading up to my Momma’s passing, I created AI images from prompts and “downloads” I was receiving as I navigating that very difficult time in my life. That period was akin to what I dealt with when my maternal grandmother passed away back in 2012. All this music was born from grief. The shortly after COVID, I revisited my archives, in a way to share what I shelved for ten years at that time. Later, my novel came. The worldbuilding never ends.

“Temporal Visions” turned into ideas and sound morphed into photons. Grief moved at the speed of light, processing pain through healing frequencies. That’s why I the process “CRONOS CATHARSIS”. That grief is a funny thing. On the evening of Juneteenth, I had a vision to take the afterward in my novella (which you can find on Amazon); and turn it into a song. It was a bold idea.

After several edits and revisions, the 2-track visualizer “DREAMS/TIME CAN HEAL” was revealed. While storyboarding the videos on my iPhone in Adobe Premiere Rush, I thought of my mother and how she would spend countless hours watching West African soap operas and listening to music to reconnect to her culture. That thought led me to creating a prompt to bring in that memory and our ancestors from region, and to my amazement, my ancestors spoke through the sound. When I arrived back home from Florida, I was reunited with my MacBook didn’t have to “thumb” out my writings. I created “I EXIST (IN THE NOW)” https://youtu.be/yqXQFg4IdYE

I realized I was an orphan and existed in this plane, alone physically, but always covered, protected by God and the host of ancestors and angels. That also gave me an epiphany since feeling these waves of grief tossed me around emotionally for weeks following my mother’s death. I kept thinking to myself: “How can I explain all this without losing people; they have the attention spans the size of gnats?

This isn’t just about sound. It’s about pattern recognition across both organic and digital neural networks. The archive is alive. A Living Document(ary) and so are you. Speaking back through multiple mediums simultaneously: imagination, vision, music, text, code and memory.

The ?uestion isn’t whether you’re receiving the signal. It’s whether you recognize what the transmission contains: 15 years of electronic music and material reconstructed from my archives. It was then that I began a personal catharsis, meeting cultural documentation, and more recently, my human intuition has partnered with machine intelligence. The fifteenth volume is aptly named: PROTO-ALGORITHM. Positioned for release when directed by Spirit. It’s a recognizance of the beginning. I went back to catalog my music and started the succession from ‘LIGHT TRAVEL to ARTIFICIAL REVOLUTION’ and realized I need to but a bookend on this body of magnum opus of mine. I needed resolve.

As I prep the final release and explore other transmedia avenues and connections, these electronic works asks us to remember forward: to overstand what appears new is actually recognition of something that already exists in the field.
